Fabinho of Liverpool has been granted permission to complete a £40 million move to Al-Ittihad; Jordan Henderson is part of the pre-season squad, with Al-Ettifaq yet to make a bid for the Reds captain; Romeo Lavia, Kalvin Phillips, Ryan Gravenberch, and Sofyan Amrabat are all targets, but Moises Caicedo is not one of them;
The Saudi Pro League club made the proposal on Friday night, and the 29-year-old has been given permission to have a physical and go through the legalities of a deal.
Fabinho joined Liverpool from Monaco in 2018 for £43.7 million and has since won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
However, the Brazil international appears likely to leave Anfield after five years to join Saudi champions Al-Ittihad, one of four Saudi Arabian clubs owned by the country’s Public Investment Fund.
Following the receipt of Al-Ittihad’s £40m bid, discussions inside the club led to the decision, made in conjunction with Fabinho, to withdraw the player from the team that went out to Germany on Saturday.
